12. How do you prepare matcha?

  • Heat water to about 160°F.
  • Pour about ½ cup of the hot water into a matcha bowl to warm it. Dip the tea whisk into the hot water to soften it. Then discard the water and dry the inside of the bowl.
  • Place 1/2 tsp in the bowl, and add about ¼ cup (2 ounces) of hot water.
  • Use the tea whisk to mix the matcha tea into the water. Begin with slow, back-and-forth strokes, then agitate the mixture to a froth with quick M-shaped

Delicious Matcha Waffles Recipe

The perfect morning includes drinking AND eating your matcha! These Matcha Waffles are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Their matcha signature green hue is both beautiful and delicious. We topped ours with powdered sugar, almonds, and bananas, but these Matcha Waffles are the perfect foundation for any fruits, nuts, or just butter and syrup.

Matcha Waffle Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
  3. 1 Tbsp baking powder
  4. 1 tsp kosher salt
  5. 2 large eggs
  6. 1 1/2 cups milk
  7. 1 Tbsp Oishi Matcha

Preheat waffle maker

Spray with cooking oil.

Mix all dry ingredients in large bowl.

Mix wet ingredients and combine with dry ingredients.

Pour desired amount into pre-sprayed waffle maker. 

Cook until golden brown on edges.

Add toppings of your choice.
