12. How do you prepare matcha?

  • Heat water to about 160°F.
  • Pour about ½ cup of the hot water into a matcha bowl to warm it. Dip the tea whisk into the hot water to soften it. Then discard the water and dry the inside of the bowl.
  • Place 1/2 tsp in the bowl, and add about ¼ cup (2 ounces) of hot water.
  • Use the tea whisk to mix the matcha tea into the water. Begin with slow, back-and-forth strokes, then agitate the mixture to a froth with quick M-shaped

Iced rose matcha latte

Looking for a drink that's perfect for spring? Look no further than a rose matcha latte! You can drink this hot or iced, either way it will lift your mood and elevate your taste buds! Here is what you will need:

Ingredients:  

1/2-1 teaspoon Akira matcha powder 

2 tablespoons dried rose petals 

1/2 cup water

hot water 

almond milk

honey

ice

How to:

  1. Create your matcha shot, combine your matcha with warm water (never boiled, as it will burn the matcha). Whisk until frothy.
  2. Next seep the rose petals in a small strainer ball in about 1/4 cup hot water for about 2-5 minutes. Then combine the rose water shot with almond milk and a dollop of honey and stir, and then pour mixture into a glass with ice.
